While I agree with a lot of the suggestions in this post, I disagree with the "you’re not buying, you’re selling" part. It's just not that one-sided. I think the proces of hiring or applying works best when it's a conv

Do you have a source? I did a quick google for the Netherlands, but couldn't find any information about the real costs (without insurance).

It's a shame you're getting downvoted. There's nothing wrong with your comment, and it adds a useful argument to the discussion that's going on here. I can only applaud Google employees who want to have a meaningful disc

I once rented a tourist bike in Amsterdam because my own bike broke down and the OV bikes were all rented out. I was surprised how often other cyclists rang the bell to me and how people were keeping me distance. That tourist bike was a big

Indeed, riding through city center Amsterdam without a bell is suicide. Foreign pedestrians don't really look out for cyclists when they cross a street.

I've a funny anecdote about this: I'm Dutch and do my daily commute on my casual bike without a helmet. In the weekends I ride my road bike and wear a helmet. I've once had an accident on my road bike and broke my helmet (alo

I'm one of those people who dislikes pigeons, and it's interesting to read that at least my belief that pigeons can spread disease doesn't hold much truth. Personally, I can't relate to the explanation that "pigeon

As someone from Amsterdam who owns a car, commutes by bike, and rides a road bike for sports, my opinion is that it's mostly the road cyclists who create unsafe situations. Sure, car drivers are not free of any blame, but they tend to

I think it also makes a difference if you work with people across different timezones or not. Regular chatter might be good enough to communicate between people in roughly the same timezone. However, If I send an unclear chat (or email) to

I don't think I have the same level of experience with support as you do, but in general my experience with Apple and Samsung is the same as yours. I never needed Google's support, so I can't tell you if that's better.

For my job as an app Product Manager, I use several different devices on a daily basis. I also switch between an iPhone and Android phone as my personal device every half year or so, to stay up-to-date with both platforms. I think articles

That's indeed a good reason to pick another domain. I hope non-gmail domains will become more common because of that. It might lower the barrier to switch for many people.

I've been trying out Protonmail which I'm happy with, but in practice I'm still using Gmail. I'm reluctant to move away from my @gmail address, and inform all my contacts to use the new one. Besides that, I notice that o

That makes sense. I didn't expect the whole quantum engine to be running on iOS, but I hoped hoped Firefox to be at least as be reliable on iOS as Chrome (also Webkit) or Safari.
