I'm sorry but personal privacy trumps someone's business. People may hate apple but we're continuing down an advertising hellscape. I feel bad for the small business owners. But that's life.

How exactly do you teach "Making new things, solving new problems."? How can you solve a math problem if you can't do basic algebra, even if you can run an algebraic statement through wolfram and get a result? You learn probl

That's exactly the point - mass education. Busses. Not ferraris - even for people who might need that level of support. It isn't economical or a net benefit for society to make sure everyone's needs are met to the best possib

Mass education is like mass transit. It gets the majority of the population somewhere. Not everyone gets to take the ferrari. Someone will always be left out and we shouldn't let perfect be the enemy of good enough.

Appeal to emotion. But either way fund managers shouldn't be putting near retirees or retirees in high risk investments. I'm sure my parents or grandparents would not be happy with their fund managers if that happened, either.

To say that Meta is not established by this point in time is absurd. They're plenty established and have been the leader in their industry. The age of the company isn't relevant imo.

You've created a strawman here. First, a safety net wouldn't apply to 300 million people, only a small percentage of that who need it when it's necessary. Second, I'm not suggesting it is solely funded by taxing the mega

All ideas can be abused by awful people. This is why we have stalled in general ; everyone has some "slippery slope" boogeyman as an excuse why we can't solve problems society faces.

CEOs are too rich to ever have skin in the game. It's a meaningless exercise. Tim Cook will never feel the pain of a layoff like someone at the genius bar.

What does "refreshing" even mean? What would be refreshing is an adequate social safety net. Not mega rich getting slightly less megarich.

Those CEOs knew what they were doing and what they're doing isn't wrong. Our entire economy is built on short term gain and rewards that. CEOs are worried about their quarterly numbers and are doing layoffs to lessen the blow.

CEOs will never really take the same responsibility. They're all rich. Even if they resign they'll have another job easily. The problem is the system. With an adequate social safety net, these layoffs matter much, much less.
