Anything that further pushes and supports oEmbed is a great thing. It would be nice to see a list of what providers you support -- I don't want to callback every URL in a blog post or other thing to you, and you probably don't wan

This is scam "journalism" from Forbes, where you should expect no less. They brush off the subsidies, which greatly reduce the cost of premiums for lower income people, and is a huge component of the law. They also don't disc

If so, dribbble is like letting you post only the first 5 lines of a README.md without commit history. Not quite the same.

Very nice work. I've done lots of work with credit card fields because I work for a large non-profit that depends on credit card donations. I might just use this in the next iteration of our form. Good idea doing the detection in realt

I couldn't disagree more with the author. Twitter is what you decide to make it. If you don't like someone's tweets, don't follow them. Make twitter the experience you want it to be.

Air travel is one of the least efficient and most polluting forms of travel. Going slower and burning less fuel is great, even if it isn't as fast as technically possible.

From what I understand (and I work in the public media sphere), this was a monster CMS project. A way to integrate audio, video, web content, reporters notes, etc. Is it any wonder a project like that failed?

Does this happen often? I suppose every time a plant gets shut down for maintenance, but I don't see mention of catastrophic failures necessitating many black starts.

Perhaps we've reached the point of too many layers of abstraction. The web is designed for simple hyperlinked documents with some media elements. We've done a pretty good job of adding more stuff to it than that, but that doesn't mean it

The android file transfer app does not work with the Nexus 4. At least, it doesn't if you're on Mountain Lion. Same goes for doubletwist. The Nexus 4 only supports USB MTP mode, not USB MSC (mass storage) mode. I think other newer phones ar

I guess android works pretty slick if all you do is stream from the cloud. But, if you want to sync music with the phone it's a disaster. The Google-supported way is for me to put MP3s in a folder? Really? And some of the android phones (li

You can also move to TMO with an iPhone. They reframed their spectrum in many cities (such as Minneapolis where I live) and now 3G works on the iPhone. It's faster than AT&T by far. For the money I'm saving vs. AT&T, I can afford to

I don't get the sense that Yahoo was attempting to blame all it's ailments on remote work. DHH is reading that into this. Is it a component? Perhaps. But not the root cause.

You don't even have to be old to have this problem. I'm 31 and wear hearing aids due to tinitus -- $4000 for far less sophisticated tech than is in a phone from a decade ago. The medical devices industry is a total racket, but IMHO hearing

Well, in fairness, my Prius lists the City/Hwy mileage as 60/53. In reality, it's more like 40/52. There certainly seems to be some disconnect between the EPA calculations for city driving and actual reality.

This is neat, but as a designer I would be very wary about more explicitly allowing anyone to use my logo without adhering to the standards of the branding system. Most brands have extensive guidelines on how logos can and cannot be used. N

How would this happen like you say? Browsers stop accepting third party cookies & scripts, block ads, disable localStorage, etc? It'd be the browser that no one would use, because half the sites on the 'net wouldn't work. Like many big

With gmail you have a marketplace. Gmail might be nice, but email is a protocol and you can take your business elsewhere. Not so with facebook. They've built what's essentially treated as a protocol, but it's completely under their control.

Puh-leeze. Everyone thinks some other software is terrible. Wordpress might have some funky bits, but a) it's gotten a lot better over the years, b) it's pretty damn popular, and c) end users don't care if the guts suck if the UI works and
