I've come to the same conclusion. "Modern" medicine is just marginal assistance to your body's own healing mechanisms.

Actually, it is not just a 'hip, new word'. It's entirely different than engine braking. Regenerative breaking actually captures some of the energy otherwise lost. It also works by simply pushing the brake pedal. Engine braking does neither

1. Growing by what measure? When I was at Drupalcon 2012 there was a large amount of discussion about how the community wasn't growing and was the same people every year. And I seriously don't mean to be a dick, but passion doesn't equal te

Drupal 8 is basically trying to get to where django/rails/symfony were several years ago, and based on the glacial development pace of the last version, by the time it is complete, they'll still be several years behind the feature set of co

It actaully doesn't have much to do with -webkit-font-antialiasing as a css extension, and much more to do with how chrome is handling font rendering in general. v22 was a big, big step backwards. Designers and typographers are pissed. Even

A less aggressive method is to attempt to achieve things that you're not sure how to do you. Learning is built in to every project, then.

You're 100% right, of course, it is in apple's best interest to have you use their app. It's just that downloading a bulky app for something you'll use infrequently is a crappy way to to business.

To me, this is useful for making testable prototypes, or sites that need to be thrown together on very short order with a short lifespan. But unless they're able to generate responsive layouts and markup that's not semantic & clean, it'

Neat, but it's fixing a problem that doesn't really exist. Bike Helmets are reliable and inexpensive. This thing isn't. How about putting it on the bike itself, or on other parts of the wearer's body, so that it works in coordination with t

The NPR story has a non-obvious link to the site. Here it is: http://www.parkinsonsvoice.org/ That's pretty amazing if they can detect it within the poor 8khz of a phone. I wonder how awful cell phone reception changes the accuracy.

Not really. I want the ability to make it into a multi-media in the truest sense of the term. I'd want it as an option, but not a requirement. Maybe I'm just asking for a youtube-boxed sized version of hypercard. :D

This is really great. I (or my employer) would gladly pay for this. I have two suggestions & critiques: I think that by eschewing video and audio entirely, you're missing out. As apple has demonstrated, animations and transitions are im

I'm 99.9% sure that is NOT a shot spotter. We have Shotspotter in some areas Minneapolis, as well as city-wide wifi. Those little cans are all over the place and are part of the WiFi System. I took a photo of one just down the street from m

I can't quite tell if this is great, or if they're really over-thinking it. That said, I do appreciate that Adobe hasn't fallen into the trap of making their apps blue circles like seemingly every other app.

Designer here. I'd add more leading (line-spacing). More spacing between sections, too. It needs to breathe. I'd drop the exclusive use of grey and use black for the body text, at least. Grey might look nice on your screen because it's very

I've been working on a similar idea and think this is pretty fertile space. We have calendaring for scheduling our days, but not so much for our social lives and free time. What's needed there is kind of an anti-calendar. The trick with any

This article is terribly difficult to follow the flow of text. I've never understood the desire of some designers for columns of text on the web. Web pages are infinitely tall. Why would you want to replicate a restriction of old media on a

Very useful indeed. I use a similar 1680 x 1050 rotated 90º (so it's 1050 x 1680) with a browser. When I'm doing frontend work and having a browser fullscreen gives plenty of room for the viewport and web inspector or firebug. It's a real p
