Assuming MySQL meets their needs there's no hugely compelling reason to choose PostgreSQL over MySQL.

But that means you're heavily biased against programmers that may be very capable and successful but don't work on open source projects. That reduces the catchment size considerably.

Scala makes it really easy to call a blocking function using a future with a configurable execution context. I don't see why one would run out of threads. Currently we use the Typesafe supported Slick library but the mechanism is the s

You're missing out on a huge amount of great things if you let the parenthesis stop your lisp journey. With editor support for formatting and matching they are easy to deal with. In fact the main reason closing brackets are so noticeab

I found that if you advertise for php programmers you get mostly people working on fairly simple web applications. The more talented programmers would apply when we emphasized that we use php for the front of the backend systems, but we als

Personally I think both needs are met by moocs. If you want to be taught watch the lectures. If you want a more practical self directed approach do the exercises. Most people will do both

I worked on this for a few years with some others. A fun experience to make a cl library for games that would work on the three major platforms and several cl implementations. We got bored and abandoned it though. https://github

It's actually not the worst UI at all. It's optimized for expert play. After a few days you can quickly do what you need to do in an efficient manner. It's a bit inconsistent but it's very functional. It's sort of l

I find it amusing that the author asks for an optimal solution that avoids taking up extra space. Then in his example solution he makes two copies of the original string to convert it to lowercase and strip invalid characters. Using a regex
