Maybe so, but the answer isn't to worry about toiling away ad infinitum in failure. Better to be a modern day Calvinist and act as if your actions will make a difference even if you aren't preordained to reach Heaven.

Likewise. Sam is extremely effective, works super hard for YC companies, and knows something about seemingly everything. Even as a talent acquisition alone this would make sense.

Exec is hiring in SF. We are an on demand outsourced labor force. We just launched yesterday to generous press coverage. But that's not what is important; what is important is that we are %100 focused on building the product to provide the

I agree that it is hard to focus on multiple things. Certainly I am not "running" Justin.tv/TwitchTV by any means: my cofounder Emmett Shear is in every sense of it. I don't think I could have a day to day operational role at two companies.

One of my biggest problems using marketplaces is the cognitive overhead of figuring out the often complex process how I'm supposed to use the site. With Exec, I wanted to make something that was super simple and just works. Most of our chal

So, here's the skinny: I spent most of Monday at Justin.tv / TwitchTV. At TwitchTV I mostly work on strategy and management issues. My cofounder Emmett Shear runs the company as CEO along with a great management team including our COO Kevin

The comments in this thread are painful and seem to be based on a lack of understanding of investor motivations and basic spreadsheet math. YC (and the rest of Silicon Valley)'s biggest successes are companies that make money and have real,

This article is silly. Of course there are massively overhyped startups in Silicon Valley that don't deserve their funding or attention. I won't comment whether Groupon is one, but certainly startups like Cuil come to mind. However, there a
