The biggest i3wm issue I still have is that I can't just do the equivalent of "Hey spawn this window over there with these dimensions" No, I have to first specify a window with some regex which will "swallow" the ap

Nice article, though what I'd personally love to see is a resource where I can go from zero to actually making (basic) designs using open source tools, which can then be taken to a 3D printer and printed.

If QubesOS supports Flatpaks sufficiently, then it might run the Signal Desktop app (though if you want to register a new account, you do have to have a phone number, which is also possible virtually these days anyway)

I have considered, but so far there's no other hardware which has this form-factor with Libreboot support (although I'm unsure whether the X230 has x265 hw accel)

I'll continue to use h264 because it has hardware acceleration on my Thinkpad X220, whereas x265 doesn't enjoy the same luxuries on this laptop.

For me this link results in a 503 I've read the gist of this article in my local news org feed. What it basically comes down to is that Finnish scientists noticed that Russian children who grew up in rural areas usually had way less as

I do too, but I found that it doesn't quite work well with stuff like .cue files the way it works with individual files. With individual files I can at least (in console for example) `cycle-values keep-open always`, which makes mpv not

Wouldn't it be equivalent to adjust / turn down the speaker volume on the phone?

Playing the devil's advocate here, but what would be the difference between talking on a phone via loudspeaker vs. (loudly) talking with another person sitting next to you?

That's really nice. This is what I would call a great value-add through goodwill directed at the community. I hope to do something similar if I ever get to run an enterprise.

I don't think it's necessarily about fixing those bugs, but I think a lot of times it's more about at least having those bugs be documented in order to raise awareness on (probable) issues down the line for whoever would want
