I'm running ubuntu, maybe it is time to try Pop OS. Hopefully system76 doesn't pull shenanigans like Canonical.

It is not just Facebook and LinkedIn. I've seen this from random small sites. Some other silly shit that come to mind - having the unsubscribe link after half/full page of white space, once you click on unsubscribe "give us 2

I was at a mega corp store yesterday to buy some basic necessities. While paying the bill, I was asked to donate money for Covid-19. They do this nearly all year, asking for donations for something or the other. Why should I trust this mega

I never said appointed judges are a great idea, especially lifelong ones. I simply said electing judges is a bad idea. I don't know which one is worse. Maybe both are equally bad.

The problem isn't that judges are elected This is definitely one of the problems. There was a study that showed judges were handing stricter sentences for the same crime during election years than non election years ("tough on c

I do the same, glad to know there are others! I don't read as much as I used to anymore, but I listen to podcasts. Pick a subject of even mild interest to me, add a dozen podcasts on the topic. Listen to a few episodes from each podcas

Microsoft can do a much better job than Amazon if they created a competing product. They might take the quicker route and buy AirTable maybe? I can foresee Microsoft and other bigger players entering the no code market seriously in the near

This looks similar to Airtable, except Airtable UI seems nicer. Airtable is a Billion dollar company, tons of people are happily using it. I am no fan of Amazon, but I do not think it is as bad as you describe. Even if it is half as good as

Nanny states are never a good idea. But lets say we prefer nanny state and lets say it works with FB. There is no guarantee that it will always work with every other shitty FB, or if it works, it might become China like, which is worse. The

Maybe future generations will realize how shitty FB is and stop using it (one can hope!) A bigger problem is FB owns much better products like WhatsApp - it is easy to quit FB than WhatsApp in my opinion

Nothing can be upgraded on Macs - SSD, memory. Maybe Mac users do not care, but the most annoying thing about this is that others are copying Apple. Even the legendary thinkpads, some of them are soldered and non upgradeable. Even the screw
