Good stuff! I would say that Apple is/was a personal computer company. The form factor changed to mobile but the mission still seems largely the same.

I would strongly disagree. Tesla was never really about being a car company.

Everything about Tesla has been around helping/saving the environment by accelerating the adoption of battery driven cars vs ICE. Nothing about self driving cars says they have to be electric. In fact, if the first fully self driving c

One of the things I find fascinating, and that Tesla has to grapple with at some point with real ramifications, is: are they a self driving car company that just happens to be an electric car company? Or the other way around? I would argue

```Opposing this order is not something we take lightly. We feel we must speak up in the face of what we see as an overreach by the U.S. government. We are challenging the FBI’s demands with the deepest respect for American democracy and a
I think, as a society, it boils down to this: "And while the government may argue that its use would be limited to this case, there is no way to guarantee such control." Can a private, for profit, company deny the will of an elect
Blame the market for changing. Seriously, it's that simple. "Market now values x over y and we're doing the smart thing and adjusting our strategy....."
Yes. You can't deploy the same ad on FB and Twitter and Pinterest the way you can do a TV spot and deploy it on any channel large or small.
I think "past" is a bit of a cop out. It has to be current and in the moment to be applicable.
There are a lot of reasons why. Just one example is advertisers. The largest advertisers need to work with properties at a certain scale. TV has that. Google has that. Facebook now has that because it grew to be huge. Pinterest doesn't
Well the news media write about a lot of things but that's different to being newsworthy. Readers decide that. It's why Yahoo's homepage might have a story about a wounded war veteran returning home next to one of Kim and Kay
I think because the network effect is a fundamental foundation of social networks. Think of all the SN's that have come and gone. It appears you can't really remain static with a non/slow growing user base. Eventually, someth
Twitter is a poster child for why diversity is key. Not racial, but socioeconomic. Twitter is very popular with people who have reached a certain threshold of technical competence. After that though it falls away quickly. They needed to rea
