If the position requirements describe certain things they want and you have done those things at certain jobs, basically say that you have done what they are asking for at those jobs. Things like "work on multitier web application"

I feel very similar so probably don't have great advice, but as someone else mentioned it depends on your particular scenario. For me I have a day job at a company then my own company on the side I do a few hours of work a week for too

I've been at places where it felt like a fun social time, and places where it hasn't felt that way. I do miss being in the office sometimes at places where it has all those positives you mentioned. When the in-office environment d

Exactly -- so why is it a big deal if someone chooses not to participate? Lots of cultural and learned expectations around holidays. That's ok though, we all can choose for ourselves what's right I think.

It's not the kids responsibility to make sure their grown adult parents have a social life. That's even more depressing. I totally understand where people are coming from with that though -- the parents gave life and raised the ki

This is a nice essay. While he's right I only notice the bad parent situations probably, I've seen numerous instances of incorrigible kids had by otherwise successful parents with drug addiction and mental health issues that have

That's pretty cool that it worked. If some random person on LinkedIn was like "hello can I get a job with you" I'd probably block them, but you must have a better way of saying it than I can think of.

Ask a question like "Given a non-negative integer numRows, generate the first numRows of Pascal's triangle." If they can't answer without using Google I end the interview as they didn't pass the round. :-)

I don't know for certain but it seems like ranking is not just by upvotes within a time period, but also what the topic content is, based on how I've seen posts ranked before. Kind of politicized non-tech things don't seem to

I do something similar, if someone asks "what do you do?" They usually mean "what is your job?" But, I will still ask in response, "do you mean what do I do for work?" Because there should be more to who we are

Say a business needs some web dashboards, you write them in a way that should be clean and maintainable, and has documentation for the next person to come in and help if needed later. They like what you did so ask for more of your help. The

All of what you say seems basically true, I still don't understand why the tipping subsidizing what restaurateur should pay as wages isn't even seen as much of an issue but DD drivers should be a special case, is all, other than &
