If you mean the history graph, try gitk (part of the git distribution, but you may need to install a separate git-x11 or similar package).

Both of those are current trends - microservices in a monorepo - as far as I can tell. (Not a fan of either.)

The 'u's are attributable to Dr. Johnson (and his desire to make English seem more French and therefore prestigious), but by the 18th century the cultures of Britain and America had diverged quite a bit. No 'u's were eve

"British spellings" are an affectation Brits developed to make their language look more French and therefore more prestigious; Americans, who know we're the equals of France, kept the older spellings as recorded by Webster.

It's local (propagates continuously through space, no faster than the speed of light) and if you want you can view it as mediated by particles (photons), although just viewing it as the EM field is fine too (and certainly no less local

What? The price of oil has fallen sharply. USO has fallen sharply. This is what USO is supposed to do. The service USO is providing is giving traders a symbol they can use to be directionally exposed to oil without personally maintaining a

You don't "invest in USO" with the expectation of returns. You trade USO or derivatives with the expectation that its price will track movements in oil. Has USO failed to track movements in oil? Will it?

If ETFs get too low (as they often do), they generally do a reverse split. The objective of the fund managers is to track percentage moves - that's all.

There's many instances when someone from $company shows up in one of these threads on "$company is doing something nefarious" to do damage control... and I think this is the first one that doesn't reflect poorly on the $

Contango means that futures prices further out are higher than futures prices in the nearer term, and is normal for oil futures; what's notable is the extreme slope of the futures curve we're seeing.

Paid to take on the futures contract obligation. If you happened to need or want physical oil delivered in Oklahoma a month from today, you got a good deal as futures traders unloaded their contracts.

Yes (e.g., if you buy CL futures, delivery is in Oklahoma). QL coal doesn't trade anymore (all the active coal futures I can find now are cash-settled) but delivery seems to have historically been at the discretion of the parties, so t

This is a ludicrous comment unless you believe that "employees" deserve to be second-class citizens. Lots of people cash out during funding rounds. It may be the status quo, but no one deserves their equity being a scam.

WSL was very cool from a pure tech standpoint, but I've never been clear what the actual use case for it was. WSL2 seems to be more along the lines of coLinux, which I felt the same way about when it was new.
