Nice write-up. Also I was curious when consumers might see this in their products, last line in the article says late 2017/early 2018.

I'm curious about "AX" coming up. Uses 2.4/5ghz bands, just more channels apparently. "AD" i think is 60ghz, which doesn't penetrate walls too well in comparison. Who knows, maybe we'll all use speci

Isn't this the third big site that's gone down this year? I guess they're getting bought out by media companies or something. So much for the hydra.

This is great! Too many companies are in the 1920's, where they want an open plan so bosses can stare at people while they work.

Cool idea, I just don't think we're ready yet. If a cable has to be used, i'd prefer it to be a single USB-C, which also charges the phone while plugged in and being a desktop. Possibly to a dock with a keyboard/mouse&#

You should be able to use chrome or safari to load youtube videos in the web player, up to 720p just fine on it.

I've come across Amazon doing surge pricing before. A pair of earbud headphones came up in an article praising them at their price point, so myself and a bunch of other people decided to buy them. They were $35. Amazon had it for sal

Is that why every new phone this year has the Snapdragon 835? I notice the Galaxy S8 has Samsung's own in Europe and Asia, but in the USA it's ole' snappy 835 just like everything else.

How do these things decrypt? Couldn't someone take the "already paid" bitchain address from someone else, put it in and click "paid" with that to unlock it?

Samsung has a dock like this for the S8 apparently. https://www.cnet.com/products/samsung-dex-dock/preview/

Really surprising how Sears isn't bigger than even Amazon with how they started with their catalog. One of the downsides of not taking technology seriously. Though, there's a flipside to it too. Colecovision failed too during th

Funny, I'm reminded of my HP Ipaq back in 2005 or so. 800mhz smartphone with a stylus, wifi, running Windows CE. It struck me as a portable computer, with "cellphone" functionality added as an almost afterthought. Guess that

Are torrents being blocked? What about Kwix and a torrent of Wikipedia? http://wiki.kiwix.org/wiki/Main_Page http://wiki.kiwix.org/wiki/Content_in_all_languages

I'm excited for the A9"S" I guess, the super low-light version of this. Can't afford either one though, but I can dream.

Did you packet sniff what is being sent out? Or do you have some intermediary running on the device itself? Just curious if it was difficult to do. If more people knew how to, maybe this sort of activity wouldn't sneakily happen as o

So avatars are limited. Makes sense, but it could also open up a way to sell premium avatars. Or really, rent their use. If I could design my own avatar, then pay $10 a month for it to be approved and then available to just myself in vario

I'd love to see Mike Judge team up with Trey Parker and Matt Stone on a project. Id imagine it would be a instant classic, hilarious hard-hitting social commentary.

Wow, using Chrome on Win10, I tried to select the text "Daydream ready phones" to search for it. Unable to select text after bringing up the right-click context menu. This counteracts how I browse the internet for more information

I hope this means a 3rd party will lazily port a VR version for PSVR owners. I'd buy that.

In the article, the amount taken was $3,400. A lawyer to fight this costs a lot more than that. Also, there's another issue. What if that was his entire savings? Now he has $0 for a lawyer.

Wells Fargo did similar to me too. However, they then deleted all of my account history (I was paperless) and demanded I call their corporate office, refusing to do anything in writing. Glad you were able to resolve things, I wasn't a

Yeah, I'd be happy to see an active IRC channel for HN. Though, I doubt many would use it since IRC is way past being en vogue.

I've worked remotely online since 2000, my preferred way to work. You should offer training. A problem I see in a lot of businesses is old school thinking. Some people just think "Business" means dressing up in a suit, havin

Interesting. Are they seeing a market for drug dealers? Or maybe high school students. Paired with their Amazon lockers at 7-11 thing, suddenly condoms and pregnancy tests could be covertly ordered.

It think the problem is now too many people are on the internet. Back in the 90's, it was a great place to hang out. In the 2000's, you had fun sites with great user commentary like Fark, Digg, Slashdot, and Reddit. Now everybody
