Yeah. I sort of took a quick glance at your past comments and found that, just forgot to update. That sounds like an awesome job! I just hope you don't get to pass around the Horn of Africa that much ( knocks on wood ).

Oh I didn't know that was the case. I grew up and graduated in the Philippines with a Computer Science degree, but didn't manage to experience work there. Most of my friends work in HP, Canon and other multi-nationals, and entry-level work

Oh my. This resonates with nearly everything I'm experiencing after migrating to the US 2 years ago. I grew up in a city where most of my friends live within a 1-mile radius around my house. Those friends are still there after all these yea

Cool. I've always wanted a programming mentor. I work in a really small software company in which I find a lack of standardized software practices. Not that it is bad, but I would love to discover the other side of the spectrum through a me

I found Skiena's: http://www.amazon.com/Algorithm-Design-Manual-Steve-Skiena/d... to be much more readable, but Cormen's is still considered THE bible algorithms anyway.

Competence has to begin from something. Even the best hackers wrote ugly, buggy code when they were young. You gain competence by improving from your mistakes, but how can you improve if you don't recognize that your previous code was crap?
