I always enjoyed that bit of Romeo and Juliet in high school... If love be blind, love cannot hit the mark. Now will he sit under a medlar tree And wish his mistress were that kind of fruit As maids call medlars when they laugh al

Wasabi's not bad. $5.99 a month per TB, plenty of ways to get your data in and out. I'm nothing to do with them but I back up a TB or so and it works well.

My favourite is Brewfather, a homebrewing planner and brew timer/tracker app. It's cross platform and extremely well done. Revenue is via subscription, not ads. https://brewfather.app/

A friend had someone sign up for Instagram using her Gmail address by mistake. There's no way to unsubscribe and no way to contact Insta without logging in (and it was in another language). In the end she changed the password and took

I have a 5-6m high grapefruit tree, and they... do not survive the fall. This material sounds cool but I hope it's better than my grapefruit.

Nice. Is there a reason that the up-down arrows don't work to scroll the page on Deepnote? PgUp/PgDown work but the arrow keys are blocked for some reason (Chrome, Windows 10)

Once Vista became stable it was a really nice OS. I installed it for a parent at some point because that's what we had a license for, and was really surprised how fast and clean it was compared to Windows 8.

I loved old-school Macs but come one, you couldn't even resize a window by dragging an edge. I think we've moved on from that.

I think so! I've got an "Aloha" branded mahogany parlour guitar that dates from somewhere around then, it's tricky to narrow down any further than that though. Still sounds fantastic.

The Precisions can power from either the barrel plug or USB-C, I just plug in a C connector in the office and it's got power, ethernet and monitors. Tasty.

I think there was an article the other day about people who supposedly predicted COVID-19 in books, etc. Pretty sure they included her and also pointed out all the other things she got way wrong. But that probably explains a lot of the clic

Also worth looking out for the Great Map Mystery - 4 eps where Jones retraces the path of the first road atlas and wonders why it would have been drawn at all, comes up with some very interesting history along the way. Looks like it might b

Yup. I built a networked invoice database with FileMaker Pro (2.1??) on Macs at a university in the 90's. It was still there when I went back a few years later, running on an ancient Mac server with an external hard disk duct taped to
