I've only had problems with videos loading - not the front page - but that's been happening all day today.

Perhaps the most respectful and truthful way to handle this particular conflict is to assume some symmetry between "good developer" prevalence and "good managers" - that is to say that while it isn't discussed as of

If the AI is more reliable than human diagnosis, actuarially speaking, the AI would be preferred by insurance companies. Assuming it was more reliable, of course.

To see how the AI can go wrong, just try to diagnose something with flu-like symptoms using Google. Google isn't designed to diagnose symptoms, so I don't think that's a very good analogy.

So, I guess the best site in any category should be above the rules then? And come on - the idea that people only have a problem with the founders because they want to appear professional themselves is ridiculous. "Kind of jerky and un

I really think you're using scale counterintuitively here - representing dynamism as what is scaling rather than traffic. And conflating "interesting" with "dynamic" is rather dubious to me as well.

I'd say "less trusting" than "trust less." You still have to trust SHA-256 and that no one can afford to do a 51% attack, for instance.

Just the other day I was wondering to myself: does anyone A/B test against no-nonsense simple 90s HTML? Because I bet there are some particularly unexpected cases where it would win out.

The definition of bank is not an entity that holds currency, otherwise any company or you or I are a bank. To keep it simple, Banks hold reserves because they lend. Paypal, for instance, is not a bank. If your tiny Bitcoin startup holds $10

It's blazing fast, much faster than the original. It really is, I'd love for whoever made this to show a breakdown - front-end and back-end - of what decisions they made that added up to this.

I've seem papers before where machine learning was able to compensate for both inaccuracy of measurement and outright falsehoods being reported, and overall was far more reliable than humans. Full Disclosure: I just read a paper saying

Between CastAR and Oculus Rift, it just seems an embarassment of riches, speaking as someone who spent a brief time working in VR in the early 90s. It seems to me that the Oculus is for immersive environments; CastAR for shared and/or

It's nice to seem them finally attempt to reorient these lists towards Technology, which I find New York City based media is very reluctant to do. So while this list is better than their usual Old Media & Finance heavy ones, note t

Not that I strongly disagree with the authors ideas of how Twitter could take on Youtube, but it is worthwhile to emphasize that Twitter's S-1 filing indicate no intention to do so. "How I think Twitter Could Take a Billion Dollar

Once a symbol has a meaning, it works, and continues to work as long as people know its meaning. This article is akin to complaining that the letters of the alphabet or the spelling of words don't represent their sound or meaning well.

Grand Theft Auto V' sets record with $1 billion in sales in just three days. "Earns" made me think of "earnings" as in "profits."

Is this where I can complain about Twitters Ad API still not being available to the general public? You can build some amazing tools with the APIs Google and Facebook give you, but Twitter is off-limits unless you're an invited partner

I'm on an old version of Safari, and scrolling is broken for me too. It's the only site on the internet that does this. I brought it up with Medium on Twitter, and they seemed completely baffled. I haven't followed up though.
