I got an email stating I would be charged but I don't even remember what FogBugz is, I couldn't log into any account and no password reset came my way. I really don't want to deal with these charges out of no where.

Has anyone here 'adapted' to Emacs after starting out with Visual Studio / Code / etc? I have tried multiple times over the years to give it a shot but it hasn't stuck.

I also really really do not want to self-host another thing. I can't overstate how frustrating Google's search quality has gone down, and DDG just wasn't cutting it.

A few weeks ago there was a post about Kagi[0] which is a paid search engine, I tried the trial and used all my searches, then immediately became a customer and have no regrets. [0] https://kagi.com/

I find the auto idle exceedingly frustrating - sometimes it doesn't kick in, sometimes it kicks in very quickly. Sometimes i have to restart the whole application to get it to flip back to Available.

(semi unrelated) Does anyone else find them selves using SO less and less as you gain more experience? I'm over 10 years now and rarely find my self on SO.

I had a similar ordeal cancelling The Economist subscription in 2020. I had to call someone (offshore) who tried to retain me with months free, and then started trying to push emails (???) which I explicitly said no to... and then they turn

I have found JetBrain's Rider IDE[0] to be sufficient for development on Linux. It is not as heavy weight as Visual Studio but does bridge the gap of convenience that VS provides. [0] https://www.jetbrains.com/rider
