I can recommend Dr. Becky's introduction to the issues surrounding the Hubble Tension and recent JWST measurements in this 16 minute clip, as she introduces laymen to the problems well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h

I much prefer Claude 3 or even ChatGPT guardrails over Gemini. Gemini feels kind of powerful and then it does the most egregious things like this or hilarious imagegen of those black nazis as if they hammered it into the system prompt, bad

Yeah, I've also started having those info bars on subsystems like Intellisense crashing when trying to popup the context menu to present refactoring options etc. It began less than a year ago.

Holy crap, ChatGPT 3.5 fared terribly on that one. I'm usually negative to these kinds of tests and rather rely on the blind test at the leaderboard on Hugging Face, but this one was special in the unique results that still makes "

True and this is also the reason why open source models are commonly uncensored. It's frustrating though because these companies have the resources to do amazing things, but it's been shown that censoring an LLM can dumb it down i

Like the upcoming Gemini Pro 1.5, I note that even Claude 3 Sonnet (free usage at claude.ai) is much more powerful than ChatGPT 3.5 according to the benchmarks, sometimes reaching ChatGPT 4 class. Um, this is starting to become a trend, Ope

I've been thinking, just for fun, which browsers still would support Windows XP. The answer was that nothing current or even half decent really did and I had to go back quite a bit in time to find anything. So this actually fills a nic

Ah, I didn't know this and I agree this is a fairly big issue and increasingly so over time. I think smartphones in particular hastened the demand for HDR quite a bit, what was once a premium/enthusiast feature you only had to exp

WebP is awesome at lossless and way better than even PNG. It's because WebP has a special encoding pipeline for lossless pictures (just like PNG) while AVIF is basically just asking a lossy encoder originally designed for video content

Pay attention to just how good WebP is at _lossless_ comparison though! I've always thought that one as flying under the radar. Most get stuck on WebP not offering tangible enough benefits (or even worse) over MozJPEG encoding, but Web

The key to why I use AI is basically their tailored and to the point answers. Google tries to find prewritten blog posts etc. that may or may not hit the mark, and to get there you probably also have to wade through lots of ads and cruft an
