"The real reason startups don’t use .NET is based more on culture than technology." Ding ding ding, we have a winner. It's more about which tribe you want to belong to than anything these days.

Sendgrid is fantastic. Well-documented, easy-to-use, and full-featured. We recently set it up for a client and were impressed with the stats in particular. Postmark looks nice too. I'd be inclined to trust my money to the same crew that run

Big fan of Dan, but he sure takes his time getting to what he uses. Fast forward about 6 minutes in for the goods.

Thank you! I've done this dozens of times and never knew, none of the tutorials I've looked up reference it.

I moved to Austin from SF and was told by a friend prior to moving that "Austin is California surrounded by Alabama." You can definitely sense a cultural contrast outside of Austin.

Excellent story and impressive discipline. What was your prior experience with computers or technology in general?

Two things struck me: - the quality of thinking displayed in this post - what is in the world is it doing on the delicious clone I signed up for? This is the same guy that writes about scaling hardware, no? Keep it coming.

Rapportive is useful. I've found that I've written more personalized emails since I can see a pic of person I'm writing too. It's also handy for small talk. "I saw your Tweet about Conference X, how was it?"

Great idea and well-executed, congrats on the launch. How'd you build it (get course info, tech stack, etc.)?

I found it surprising that product was actually shipped. I've always assumed they'd take your money and run. Fascinating work. Thanks.

Don't be put off, most owners of their own companies are running around like chickens with their heads cut off for a chance to make it big. If you have an easy day gig that pays well and have time to hack on the side, consider yourself in g

How can you damage a trashy, publicity-stunt-driven brand by shooting an elephant? You can't. GoDaddy is light-years ahead of the competition in terms of marketing. He may have lost several thousand bucks do to some discerning geeks, which

Fireworks still suits me best for prototyping and slicing. I'd rather give my money to Pixelmator or an indie though. Somebody could make a fortune building an OS X app that supports legacy layered PSDs and PNGs.
