This is my love/hate relationship with JavaScript. There is often more than one "correct" way to do things and there is a lot of disagreement in the JS community about what way is "best". Contrast this with Python where the overarching rule

Wow some of the content there is great. Forget about searching the deep web. For me deep is the real gems buried under the first 100 or so results where stuff actually gets interesting!

That's awesome. Imagine working in an all Spanish workplace and refusing to learn at least some Spanish. I think everyone benefits from learning a bit of the language. You don't have to be fluent but even knowing the slightest bit gets you

It's scary that we are seeing how quickly the market is moving in this space. First they competed for feature parity and there was bloodshed. Then they went tried to woo us with their usability and we were in awe. In the end price was all t

Thiel is missing the point. The point is that you need to pay people enough so that money ceases to be a factor. For certain people money is not a factor so it doesn't matter whether it pay them $1 or $1MM. To others $150k is just enough mo

I have a prgmr instance and don't have any issues with it. It is a great box to play around with and the cheapest you can possibly get. You kinda have to know what you are doing but they nailed their target audience.

One interesting fact about these drop in construction components is that some of them are actually being manufactured in China and shipped over here: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/china/8602786... For it to be more econom

Is this seriously a post highlighting the heroics of being on-call?! Wake up -- being on call sucks. Being an on call programmer is even worse. All developers should have to work support sometime in their life to realize the pain of support

This is why so many schemes that promise "single sign on" fail. People have lots of identities (and complexes!). OpenID and the like all try to link them all together. For me it just doesn't sit right: especially online. The whole point bei

Congrats to Instagram! Can't say I am not bit disappointed though with all the startups getting gobbled up by much larger companies. What's next? Pinterest?

Do you know why small startups/companies don't have an HR person right off the bat? It is because the damn concept is demeaning at the very least. Who wants to be thought of as a "resource"? Above all else I feel like culture fit is the #1
