No. If you buy a book and determine its quality will leave it falling apart sooner than you want, you can return it or copy it or work to preserve it. If it starts falling apart, you can repair it. If a cd gets a scratch you can repair it.

I forgot about that. But I don't think it's that big a deal, because for other things, they already set the price: "The prices that Medicare FFS pays providers are set administratively through laws and regulations, and provid

"The prices that Medicare FFS pays providers are set administratively through laws and regulations, and providers can either take them or leave them." https://www.cbo.gov/system/files/2022-01/57422-m

The largest gov run health care programs tell providers exactly what they will pay. What are you on about?

I recall reading that enclosures made no difference to injury rates on trampolines. We have an enclosed one, and the kids love it, because it allows them to play games with balls on the trampoline.

Traumatic brain injuries, pretty much impossible to completely eliminate the risk of. These can be permanent and life altering. Land on your butt and roll back fast hitting your head on the wall. Done. Rare, but it happens.

But it was the store that decided to pretend I could self-checkout when I actually can't.

I disagree. The majority of the problems that I run into with self-checkout are related to not being able to buy items I picked up off the shelf like Mucinex or children's cough syrup or alcohol without getting an employee to check me

Which might be their plan. But then what’s the point? All you’ve done is recreate the crap experience of Amazon. Why should anybody switch?

I quit here: “it is conceivable that our entire observable universe is a supermassive black hole within a larger universe.” It’s also possible that you’re just a simulation. What is the point? Just to shock.

I keep trying to conjure stories for how this happened. My favorite is that you were lying passed out in a gutter all night with water rushing over you. And the phone. But you only mentioned the phone. lol. How is your warranty doing? ;

Agreed. The divide might be real, but when I've done this sort of work I want to be viewed as the furniture by most people so I didn't have to spend effort on awkward conversations. And I never even dealt with rich people like t

Of course there are other parts to the story. But you have the salient facts. What I'm pretty sure happened is that rental cars were in high demand for quite a while after Covid, and the local office didn't want to lose a car. (On

That’s precisely what they did. It was a one-way rental paid for on the Hertz website, and the local guy didn’t want to give up the car. So he refused. When I called Hertz about it, they said they had no authority over the local agents. Whe

The last time we rented a car, they refused to give us any car. We had paid over $400 already. There were no other rental options anywhere. My father had to drive 14 hours round trip to pick up my family. But yeah, I’m sure renting cars is

Bull. My sister switched to a dumb phone, and I couldn’t get my phone to text her anymore. I knew precisely what the problem was, as well as how to fix it, but it simply didn’t work half the time. It would just send a message to her compute
