Mobile app compatibility is becoming really important now that so many popular apps/services spend all their money into iOS/Android development. If they even offer a web version it's pretty much guaranteed to be a crippled ba

Be careful to mid the gap between personal preference and obsessive/compulsive like behaviors. When personal preferences start to become a burden it time to re-evaluate them. Some preferences will be worth keeping but many will not.

Impossible to understate how cool and innovative Growl was many years ago before anyone knew what a notification system was. It was a killer app for me back when all we really had was terminal bells or Windows system tray bubbles.

Almost all the security features are getting progressively less sensible to disable though. You gotta be for real Jedi to be using a computer with easily modifiable system files these days.

Open or at least documented file formats pretty much solved the file format problem. It's incredibly rare for me to encounter any file format I can't use natively or easily convert into something else.

Out of curiosity did you do regular oil changes for the first 40-60k miles? In my experience once the engine is broken in there's little harm in changing oil only as needed. I've gone 60k between oil changes before. As long as the
