I’ve been writing Elixir for years and I can’t even think of the last time I had a language server crash… Plus, these days there are many alternate LSP implementations besides Elixir LS: https://github.com/lexical-lsp/l

Comparing Scholar or any other Elixir ML component is bizarre. Elixir has been around for many years and its ML ecosystem has only existed for the last few. Obviously Python, the most used ML ecosystem in the world, is going to be way more

I get that they are going for an all-in-one solution with good UX, but I have a hard time believing that these features will ever be better than or feature-equivalent to uBlock and user script extensions like Stylus or Greasemonkey

Premium Instagram handles can go for tens of thousands of dollars on the grey market. Similar to how premium domain names can be very expensive. Thais particular situation with extortion for Instagram handles is pretty common.

Airtable was so cool when I tried it years ago but it was insufferably slow. Just unusable as are many web apps these days unfortunately

The point is that Erlang (the BEAM VM) follows this pattern everywhere, not just for web requests. It’s baked into the language and runtime, and that’s infinitely more powerful and customizable than not crashing in a request handler.

I can't wait until they do. TextMate grammars suck and other editors such as NeoVim are already starting to move to TreeSitter which will provide "proper" grammars for languages.

I think the design and concept are really cool but it seems like actually owning it would get old too fast and be more of a novelty. I could see myself buying this if it could emulate NES or GameBoy games though.

Absolutely feel that. The `runtime.exs` config that they added a while ago has been an absolute godsend and really fixed 90% of my complaints with deployment. It unified all config for deployments and development and made it all runtime!

What you said about releases is somewhat true, but I’d like to clarify. It has absolutely changed a decent amount over the last few years. Because it used to suck. It’s not really in flux, more like being improved because everyone knew it s

It astounds me how much I hear about the “VSCode extension uses all my CPU” thing. Yes, the extension uses a ton of CPU for 15 minutes the first time you set it up. It’s building a giant database for type information to give you type checki

Yes there is a formatter built into Mix, the Elixir build tool. There is also https://github.com/rrrene/credo which is not as extensive but does the same thing as ESLint.

Can you give an example of what you mean by “idioms and syntax rules”? I’ve been using Elixir for a long time and I don’t know what this could refer to. Even with macros, all code still has to follow the same Elixir syntax. You can’t actual

The implementation of SBMM in Call of Duty is particularly bad. Usually, you would expect such a system to match you with players of similar skill. But, that's NOT how it works in CoD. Instead, the SBMM in CoD matches you with a bunch
