I don't know if you have an actual reason to attribute Meta's performance to their business model (apart from not liking advertising). They could reasonably run a steadily profitable business based on advertising without expecting

Thoughtworks asked me talk about a time I've been discriminated against in their culture fit interview. One of the worst interviewing experiences I've had.

No, Python is much more than an interface - the model architercture and definition happens in Python. If you're writing an ML algorithm, you're writing it in Python, it's just that the lower level operations are implemented i

Between Q3 2021 and Q3 2022 they went from 150k to 186k employees; that's a huge increase over only a year. It makes sense to slow down at some point.

Their turnover is high though, a hiring freeze will reduce their staff by a lot (compared to other companies). Or is it one of those hiring freezes where they still hire replacements?

The article goes into really good detail about the nuances. It feels like many people in this thread are giving their answer to the question in the title instead of commenting on any of the content in the article.

Not having lunch helps me the most with this (I don't eat breakfast either). If it seems too extreme, you can try to have a smaller low-carb lunch.

It's just that TensorFlow is big and bloated, has quite a few quirks and it's not the cool thing to use anymore so they're doing some work to address these issues. TensorFlow is still very popular and you can get work done wi

You could have at least used embedding layers for the categorical features. Stacking dense layers with AutoML doesn't do much. So the comparison ends up being "good baseline vs something nobody ever does".
