That would be exactly it. We're a pretty small shop so I run both accounts and help out with media planning. Having one dashboard for everything helps me out a ton. I would actually be open to trying perfect audience actually. Shoot me

This is great news. I use AdRoll all the time for our clients, and I've been super happy with their service so far.

Sure. It's not a perfect alternative, but it's an option. I imagine it would be a happy negotiation. Basically just trying to figure out what multiple the VC would want and negotiating a fair outcome.

If you wanted to keep the company private and give the Vc's an exit you can always do a leveraged buyout. Basically borrow loads of money from a bank and use it buy back their equity.

I'm a huge fan of only using FB for retargeting. You know you aren't targeting spammers, and there's some sort of legitimate interest there. The only risk here is some cannibalization and duplication, but if you use some high

Okay then not google reader. What about the myriad of startups that "pivot" leaving paying customers hanging etc. Frankly too, that was a very small part of my overall point.

Try expressing a conservative or religious opinion. I've gotten downvotes for both even though I haven't been the slightest bit rude. I enjoy hacker news, but at times it can really feel like a hivemind.

Fantastic post. I did a rough version of this for a while and it works great. One thing I didn't think of was closing the feedback loop like you suggested. Usually I did that myself through the form of a casual gift (beer, etc) but I c

Serious question. I've traveled rather extensively and this seems to be a much more serious problem outside the US as opposed to within the US. Does anyone have any insight into this? Is this purely anecdotal on my part?

I think it's an issue of signalling. In Econ they call it information asymmetry. When one party knows more than the other they try to give us "signals" to show their quality. It seems as though as packaging yourself as a comp

Have you thought of doing in content ads when people search specific things? I.e. If I look up "party" maybe there's an alcohol ad or an ad for a local bar. I have so many ideas around this.
