Adrenaline is a powerful drug. And there's also a 100% focus (or very close to it), something that's really hard to achieve otherwise. Keeping yourself fit counts as well. I don't cave dive but I do ride MX which is also cons

I am a 5 min bicycle ride from my office yet I still WFH 3-4 days per week. And if a daily office presence would be required at some point I'd just switch job.

What exactly is the problem with short downtime during updates/deployments? A lot of people don't care if their deployment requires a few seconds of downtime. And most users of $randomwebsite don't really care if they need to

I was maintaining a few public terminals for Internet access in local hackerspace many moons ago - back when the cheap broadband and wifi at every corner weren't at all common. Terminals were diskless Pentium 100 (or even slower) PCs t

That's something Mazda studied a few years back. There's no active touchscreens in their cars once they start moving since ~ 2015 I think. While everyone else is still learning this lesson.

Stop trying so hard and just do your own thing at your own pace. It might work it might not work and then you're back to a regular job with regular income, like most of the world. That's not a failure, that's how life usually

Renewables require backup generation. And usually that's gas burning powerplants because they have very short startup times. Main reason for wild prices of electricity in EU is gas supply crisis.

Whoever did it - any further debate along "let's make friends again with Putin and go back to the cheap Russian gas as it once was" lines is now settled. That alone will have interesting consequences across EU.
