That reasoning is flawed. I could easily counter it with similar flawed reasoning: My AMD cards works (without proprietary kernel modules) flawlessly wit Wayland. I can play Cyberpunk out of the box.

emqx presumably wasn't used because they are a Java shop and emqx is written in Erlang. Apparently they have a need for a massive scaling MQTT broker. At that point you need to be seriously comfortable with the tools you are using. Whe

I heard stories from people working at Nokia about Huawei copying manuals verbatim, including mistakes. And Huawei is not alone in this. When I first saw a TP-Link user interface I was confused. It looked exactly like the Unifi interface. A

I'm no fan of Oracle but Oracle's steward ship of Java has been pretty good. They have invested in long term (open source) improvements such as Loom and Graal and open sourced additional technologies such as Flight recorder.

Interesting. I'm curious, was it fear of IBM or was there a concrete threat from IBM which was already eating Hashicorp's lunch and was an existential threat? I have a hard time imagining why anyone would choose IBM's offerin

Should a mail worker be able to decide who gets their mail and who don't? For example as a mail worker should I be able to opt out from delivering mail to politicians whose political statements I find deplorable?

The threat model described by the post above you is actually not about physical access. It's about the PI getting hacked remotely. If you use Syncthing's encryption then at no point is the decrypted content available to the PI. It

That's not entirely true. For example your Raspberry PI can get stolen. I would definitely encrypt the stuff on my NAS if it was sitting in my garage.

If you are into those kind of generalisations you could easily argue that's not very different from working at FANG where a lot of people only care about their own career and care very little about creating good products.
