Give https://github.com/bogo/arm64-to-sim a try. Perhaps you'll be able to get the arm64-simulator slice for free.

Oof. Twitch app on the AppleTV sucks hard, at least for watching recordings. Live watching is okay. But the seeking in the recordings would win one of those "worst UI on purpose" awards. And they banned third party clients, so the

There's also no real support for paid Warp+ access. The app's bug reporter seems to go to the app development team, who don't seem to be triaging reports much lately. That team has never responded well to service quality repo

One of my biggest annoyances is that, for whatever reason, Nest and ecobee haven't continued to expand their thermostats to support more sophisticated HVAC setups. I recently updated to a variable speed furnace (just the furnace, not t

Thomas Edison, the person, had nothing to do with the electrocution of Topsy. An employee of one of the various Edison electric companies, long since out of Edison's control, was the one who set that up.

1, 2, and 3 are actually all Apple policies. 1: Native appearance on new devices is solely to prevent them from looking bad on a user's new device. Presumably the user would rather have their apps work, but Apple wants the appearance.

Pebble story heard second hand. A major client executive, who was a huge Pebble fan, essentially forced us to connect the mobile apps we were doing for them (iOS, Android, and even Windows Mobile) to the Pebble. The Pebble SDK was C based,

Of course it matters, as NeXT was nearly out of business by the time Apple bought it. All of their hardware products had failed and their attempt as a cross platform SDK, OpenStep, was barely holding on. Their only successful product was We

None of that is scary. Pretty much all of that advice applies to systems you run internally. I do wish GHA had a solution for secure file injection, which solutions like Jenkins already have, so we didn't need a janky workaround for JS

The "rules" of unicode change over time with updates to the unicode standard(s). One big one is the grapheme breaking algorithm, which has been updated over time to support things like the family emoji and other compositions.

If you text an iPhone user over SMS, the message appears in a green bubble in the Messages app. If you use the native Messages protocol, it's blue. So green bubbles are an obvious outlier if most of your contacts have iPhones.
