From looking at the code it seems like plumbum is more object oriented, instead of having stuff like https://github.com/fabric/fabric/blob/master/fabric/state.py... in fabric, so thats a good move forward.

Yahoo is red hat, I believe amazon is also. One of the reasons is why should even large companies want to focus on supporting an operating system (yahoo still sort of tries this with freebsd) when a company that does that and only that will

Agreed, for GUI component areas it seems it has been pretty successful (I'm assuming anything complex in a GUI would also not be manageable though?). Just from some limited experience it seems a lot of "enterprise" products try to go this r

Comparing its security to P2P seems odd. Last time I checked FTP used plain-text passwords :-/
