I see a lot of love for Legere in this thread, but I remember him as the guy who influenced his devout followers to attack the EFF just because the EFF rightly criticized one of his moves. Edit: The move being lying about throttling. His e

I agree. I comfortably assert that evolution is fact, and evolution is science. This is independent of various social / cultural phenomena surrounding the discussion. As a skeptic and contrarian I've encountered the "evolu

Thank you. We can't solve a problem if we cannot discuss it accurately. The Chinese regime is invested in controlling the narrative, and is taking advantage of our deep concerns about racism to convince people to assist them in that c

I agree with your post, and I've marveled at various perceived hypocrisies on both sides. I acknowledge that in some cases there is no actual hypocrisy, just nuanced views that don't fit a simple mold. But I also believe that part

Like so many ideas that persist, the "strong" form is wrong, and the "weak" form is useful. The parent's point stands.

The culture and character of this site is being increasingly damaged by attempts at humor in a style common on another popular site, but the site rules discourage us from discussing this.

Reflecting on how my relationship with death has varied with my life experiences, I don't think you know enough about his particular experience to call him a coward.

Originally, I thought he meant "caring about workers in the US is not a valid reason for preferring both Trump and Bernie over Biden." But his intention is probably more nuanced, since that would be an argument from popularity.

This is the trolley problem. If we don't keep the economy moving, people will also die as a result. Should we try to calculate how many in various scenarios with various degrees of shutdown? Should we try to reduce harm, numerically?
