Meh. I live in the core area the author describes. The retail situation is frustrating but at least as much a function of Amazon as rapacious landlords. And eventually the vacancies will force a reset of retail rent expectations and things

Not to mention Amazon Prime works on a smart TV right out of the box and doesn’t need an Apple TV. I have a limited investment in purchased iTunes content that I’m just going to write off when I get a new TV and switch to Amazon.

The new MacBook Pro keyboard/port situation/touchbar is a complete fail. Another company would say oops and revert. Apple never will. They see it paramount to project a corporate image of infallibility above actually creating prod

Absolutely agree. I went through the same quest with my kids around that age. Scratch is OK but feels a bit limited. Tried finding a contemporary Logo but that language seems long dead. Python/Ruby probably great for older kids but to

I run a hedge fund. There are no hedge fund managers I respect who don’t run their personal accounts on IB. The IB platform is in many ways ahead of the full suites provided by leading prime brokers and third parties. I see many hedge funds

A few things. Life does tend to get more expensive. Kids cost more. Then your parents age and may need help. Around your 40s-50s is when these obligations really pick up.

If you weren’t around at the time it’s hard to understand just how much beyond every other home computer platform the Amiga was. Yet another data point that “best” doesn’t always win.

The griping isn’t about subsidizing those less well off. The griping is about a warped Federal system which systematically allows states with representation disproportionate to their populations or wealth to siphon excessive resources.

I think the two killer apps for crypto are money laundering and tax evasion which are two core competencies of the Swiss economy so their moves here are not surprise.

Yay. Now that the bank money laundering game is drying up due to international regulation, Switzerland can find a new parasitic way to earn money helping corrupt oligarchs hide their stash.
