Meh. I live in the core area the author describes. The retail situation is frustrating but at least as much a function of Amazon as rapacious landlords. And eventually the vacancies will force a reset of retail rent expectations and things will normalize. NYC is a lovely exciting place. I’m in my 21st year here. Sure I’m nostalgic for the NYC of my recent college grad days but really that’s mostly being nostalgic of being 21 again.
