Bing Maps was the one of the first alternative maps I downloaded after the install of iOS 6. Unfortunately, the application is not ready for prime time -- the tiles are not retina, the UI is a mashup of formerly-known-as-Metro elements, and

The lack of including public transit routing was a huge miss -- the "Designed in California", everyone has a car confused the decision making. I've found the Embark transit applications to be a great alternative (at least for Chicago). It d

As a long time Instapaper user, I've been slowly migrating to Pocket since they released multi-page saving, but now plan to move completely. The Instapaper error message should at least be more truthful, or the opt-out list made public so y

Tried using it in a virtual machine, but was an endlessly frustrating experience in Windows 8 (Metro) UI. It's like going from an iPhone to a Blackberry -- you want to touch the screen, but can't. Be prepared to be your family's help desk i

Several articles have mentioned bandwidth limitations of about 250 megabits per day, which also has to be used to send instrument data. But I haven't seen an explanation why bandwidth is so low -- is it lack of spectrum? Interference issues

I'm still not sure how this is economically viable. At the IRS rate of $0.55/mile and the average messenger pay of $12/hour, about four or more deliveries per hour would be needed to break even just for the hour. Add traffic and downtime fo

1) Discounts do not apply to "features", like data and text, which for most are now 50% or more of the monthly fee. 2) Family plans are rarely cheaper, unless your family members do not use their phones. 3, 4, 5) Irrelevant for unlimited pr

Enable G.722/HD Voice and use a set of satellite microphones for the room, problem solved. I love Polycoms and was sad to see my employeer recently replace them with Cisco units (who designed the button layout of the 7937?).
