Did they _really_ need to call out that the man (victim) was homeless? Is that a significant identifier important to the story?

The go-compiled wasm is also extremely slow compared to tinygo's wasm. Doing simple things like `fmt.Printf()` degraded performance significantly.

Does "capable of running Java 17 classes" imply Java >= 17 or Java <= 17? I tried to run a Java 11 jar on my M1 Mac with $JAVA_HOME pointed at a temurin-11.0.20 JVM but no such luck: $ ./jacobin -jar my.jar Cl

Since the VM controls allocation of Java objects, just implement the VM to allocate the Java objects into Go's heap using Go's native allocator thereby allowing the native Go GC to clean those up when they become unreferenced.

But it's not measuring link speed directly. It's measuring transfer rate through TCP which is byte oriented. It's not possible to receive partial bytes via TCP (or UDP for that matter).

IIRC, C10k was about maintaining 10k parallel connections, not requests per seconds.

With your proposal, how is the dimension determined from `char a[...]` syntax? Does it act like an implicit struct with standardized names for the size_t dimension and char* pointer fields?

A good first step for better WASM support, however it's currently incompatible with tinygo's WASM target. For example, I'm working on a custom WASM host (non-browser) and have a tinygo WASM package with import bindings like t

Right, it uses Virtualization Framework. I forked vftool [0] and added direct Rosetta support which was trivial to do according to the Apple documentation; just had to convert Swift example code to Obj-C. Have had a PR open for several mont

Been using vftool to host docker instead of Docker.app. It's been alright so far, got rosetta set up inside to run x86 images. All it takes is a little startup script and some up front work to prepare a disk image with Ubuntu server. E

Where do you get this assertion from that methods are post by default? Most http server implementations will reply with a 405 error for an unexpected method.

Sounds broken by spec without a false/disable value or values defined. It says to always assume true for any non-empty string, which would include things like "no", "off", "false", "0", etc.

It irks me to no end having a TLA used over and over without a definition anywhere in sight. Guessing Partial Differential Equations here?

It largely depends where the bottleneck is. In this case it may be the algorithms and data structures chosen if the two implementations are equivalent in that respect. I would highly doubt any C++ implementation using a reasonably efficient

I was about to ask the same question but it appears the repeats are not exactly identical at the edges. Still, can one prove this is aperiodic from geometry alone? It seems rather difficult to actually prove that fact. Feels intuitive that

Very nice description of the bitwise maths, however I'm curious what lead to the need for `(63 - nlz) / 7` in the first place. A divisor of 7 is an odd thing to find when dealing with power-of-2-sized integers. Maybe this expressi

That's fine to ask but a non-answer gives you almost no information other than perhaps that the candidate never bothered to learn in great detail exactly how it all works because it's never been important enough to spend time on.

Might be faster to work in palette space instead of RGB space. Instead of computing the RGB average value from a block, just pick the most representative palette index for that block and reverse lookup the best emoji for that palette index.
