Thanks for the article. It is like a continuation from the NoSQL tapes. When I saw the video, I wondered how to use the built-in reduce functions. Now it is clear. I also like the use of json.tool to format the output at the command line.

Sorry, you have truly no idea how NoSQL databases work and miss important points like parallel mappers and multi-dimension keys. Google the TeraSort project to get an idea how map-reduce works and why it wins over all SQL-based solutions.

Cool helper. Namespace pollution is still an issue even with popular libs.

Great Job. It allows new type of queries where normal map-reduce ends. May I ask? 1) Does the index building start on the first query as with normal views? 2) Will it be open like BigCouch or is it a premium feature for Cloudant customers?

Great project and a nice demonstration of Backbone.js. I second the Markdown idea. That would be very useful.

I like the courage trying to manage this. Two thumbs up. To be honest, I am skeptical, that a newcomer startup can do the heavy lifting of supporting such a big stack. Each of these has a lot of specialities that need to be known and to fig

People would not be discussing speedier solutions, if there weren't these fast NoSQL DBs. Plus 1 for NoSQL. Another aspect where this solution will always lose under real load, is the speed loss due to locking and blocking. CouchDB for inst

Git comes with a GUI tool. Run gitk to see commits, comments, history and diffs. I use it a lot and never needed another GUI tool. Anyway, great to see a new tool for devs who need more GUI support.

Dead code is a segment, that is not reachable during execution or does not add anything to the result. If you find such code, you can spare CPU cycles and get a better benchmark result.

Excellent walk through. Great to see these new libs and touch-related additions in action. This is also great example how web apps can replace native apps. I think we will see more and more of this stuff.
