Not remotely, with ease, and with a built in story as to how the person died. Perhaps in more oppressive environments it wouldn’t matter, but being able to cause car accidents at will would substantially expand the ability of the U.S. gover

A big benefit of using Go for me is that it influenced how I write Java. Keeping the use of class inheretince to a minimum (by using composition) and having interfaces for nearly everything makes for a much more flexible code base.

I sort of get the comparison, but my experience between Go and Angular has been completely different. Angular reminds me much more of something like Spring. Go on the other hand, while not particularly exciting or expressive, is mostly out

Yeah, it seems like the name is a little misleading. The reason for "I've never felt less in control of my own hardware" is the software for the most part.

That's interesting. You'd think there would be evolutionary pressure for them to be less irritating so people wouldn't respond to them as aggressively.

True, but so does everybody else. You shouldn't trust vendor benchmarks, but that doesn't mean you can't read them and use them as sort of a heuristic to help you come to your own conclusions. It might not be particularly s

The culture may have largely declined by their pay not rising as the pay in fast food did. At least in my area, McDonald’s and Wendy’s pay as much if not more than Chipotle for an entry level position. Edit: I get that this was probably mor

Sort of. But the moment they sign that software, they’ve created a backdoor which didn’t previously exist, and that fundamentally weakens the security of the platform.

If the content and discoverabilty isn’t there, it’s not going to matter. No matter what Microsoft does with Bing, they’re not going to win for the same reason.

IMO that’s probably good for Google because it’s likely going to be a wasted effort. Even if they built great stuff, I can’t see this being more successful than something like Google+ or Facebook’s attempts at making an Android launcher. Th

I'm going to go on a totally off topic tangent, but this kind of makes me wonder why no-name comics aren't pursued more aggressively for TV. How many people are actually watching Conan because of name recognition, or the amount of

I have considered this, but it seemed not worth the risk given the expense of a lawyer. I’m not an expert on this at all though, so I could be wrong. I had mostly assumed the odds of winning something like that were low because what they di

The death of XNA is pretty disappointing, if they'd invested more in that then Microsoft could have basically made Unity.

IMO it's just the syntax that comes across as really bizarre. Scala is much more complex than Clojure aside from the initial hurdle of getting used to that syntax. Personally I think it's less about FP vs OOP -- even if the OO par

The root of this is really people making distributed systems when they don't need to. This microservices trend really is a massive waste of resources for most smaller teams that get caught up in it.

IMO for most people even a Harmon Kardon Invoke (the Cortana speaker) is a better option. There's not much demand for them, so what was originally a $200 device is selling for $100 now. And it's a pretty decent speaker.
