The manufacturer of the complicated machine is withholding diagnostic tools, locking out owners and independent repair shops, in order to protect their own dealership/service business. From the article: > A Crain’s Chicago Business

The thing I miss most from pre-kid days was occasionally having time and energy simultaneously. Now it's one or the other.

I've begun gradually giving my ~30-year-old childhood Legos to my son, and am impressed with how well they've held up. I haven't noticed any yellowing or fading. I wonder if the new plant-based plastics will have the same lon

Get a split keyboard! It feels so loose and natural after you get used to it. Downside: going back to a normal keyboard (or a laptop) feels bad.

How's your precision with that thing? From the photo it looks like I'd be mousing with arm muscles instead of finger/wrist.

G+ didn't even get its own sunset announcement post; it was mentioned in passing from a post about _something else_. Poor G+.

The ecosystem integration is valuable for personal computers, but I don't think it matters so much for professional use. Think it'd ever make sense to spin _that_ off? Just the pro market? I guess then they wouldn't control t

Fascinating! > I originally wanted the software to support arbitrary displays and gpus So, do you instead have a specific list of supported displays?

Are they exactly as portable as a statically linked binary, or more? (I vaguely recall static binaries still depending on kernel versions, or something like that)

Just be mindful of what you're optimizing for. Like, minimum energy exerted or minimum distance traveled might not be the best choice for a sedentary office worker. I, too, spend an unreasonable amount of thought on mowing optimization

If the sole purpose of the display is to show pre-recorded content, then sure 8k won't be well utilized any time soon. Pixel-dense displays were sought after long before HD was a thing. Photos, games, razor-sharp text.. I'm more i
