It would certainly be evil, but not be unconstitutional, for the government to require government-funded researchers to publish their government-owned ideas wherever the government prefers. If I develop cold fusion 'using university resourc

I never get these registration hassles people mention. Does the NYT not ask for registration coming from, say, the UK?

I think for some of those things, it is legal to do yourself, but not legal to provide a program which does it -- so basically nobody will know enough to do it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Millennium_Copyright_Ac... http://lists

I wouldn't say that just because someone knows Haskell they are suddenly a good programmer. Some schools use Haskell for their intro programming classes nowadays.

This seems expensive. $50/yr + one time $25 + $70 daily? The hourly rate is cool I guess ($10) but really, standard car rental places are pretty cheap.

You mean booting to singleuser? If you don't want it just use a grub password; nothing to do with CentOS.

What is the difference between taking drugs / taking 5-HTP supplementals / "naturally" getting a lot of tryptophan in your diet? Seems like it's all drugs.

Be careful with this. You'll start out reading the comments first. Then you'll begin ignoring the links entirely and we end up at <other news site>.

I don't get it; how in character were they supposed to be when deciding? Sure, there could be convincing arguments for release made by an actual AI, but for ME the real person sitting in IRC it would be easy to just say no.

I think that if albums were $5, 3 times the albums might be sold, but more dollars would not be spent. I don't see anything but punishment stopping illegal downloads.
