Slow. The Nitrogen8M SOM used in the MNT Reform uses the i.MX 8M which is a 4x Cortex-A53 @1.5 GHz and a single Cortex-M4F @ 266 MHz. The performance should be comparable to a Raspberry Pi 3 B+. Still, I love the idea and I hope they suppor

Thanks for the insight. I feel like a lot of us missed a good chunk of history by avoiding /r/btc.

Get away with what though? Do you believe Gavin was a willing dupe using the CSW narrative to push bigger blocks? Honestly before watching the video it was something I hadn't even considered. I was certain Gavin was simply naive. Thank

Gavin's endorsement of CSW really is one of the strangest things in Bitcoin's history. Barely Sociable's Satoshi reveal touches on it a bit. I also think it is pretty telling that Greg hasn't publicly commented (that I&#

Bitcoin needed to bootstrap. Without reward subsidies halving there would be little incentive to invest early. See Grin: https://www.tradingview.com/symbols/GRINUSDT/?exchange=POLON...

The energy consumption of the next closest altcoin is almost an order of magnitude less even with ASICs. After that, you'll find the security model of almost every altcoin to be total garbage (low energy consumption).

I'll shutdown my bitcoin mining operation if you shutdown your AC. I find 21c living to be incredibly wasteful and a luxury only offered to those blessed to be born in the first world. This type of argument goes nowhere fast.

I agree. The IRS should simply mandate that forked coins have a purchase price of 0 USD. When sold, the tax event occurs and the seller simply pays the short term or long term realized gain.

I know sim racing is somewhat of a niche industry but the demand for high end VR is absolutely there: NoVRNoBuy was pretty much the only regular comment you would see when Codemaster's was hyping Dirt Rally 2.0 So much so that this is

I hope you're right. I suspect HTC is far worse off than Oculus and will follow them down the rabbit hole in search of mass market appeal. If Facebook spent FAR less than 2 billion on Oculus I doubt they would even still be around. I&#

The market for a high end HMD is pretty much anyone that already has no problem spending $1,000 on a video card. That is a lot of us but it isn't big enough for a company like Facebook or HTC. My fear is pushing crap at $500 instead of

A lot of us have been dreaming about quality VR for 20+ years. The original Oculus team was a group of those folks. A lot has changed over there in 3 years and people fear it may be another 20 years if this mass market plan fails.

Verilog/HDL has obvious advantages to C/C++ in the emulation world that seems to escape too many people in this never ending debate. Are both using some blackbox magic? Yes, but if we could compare the HDL size to byuu's code

I'm not dismissing the incredible work of Byuu. I'm simply suggesting it is far easier to get cycle accuracy and correctness in an FPGA than through software emulation. Kevtris probably spent less than a year in his spare time to
