For some reason I feel a lot worse about the idea of automatically skipping sponsor sections of YouTube videos than I do about blocking web ads.

I don’t think it can skip automatically. I’m an Overcast user, and haven’t heard of this - and can’t find the feature now that I look. It does have configurable “skip forward” and “skip backward” _times_, and will skip to and resume from be

I’m definitely not about to spend the time trying to understand what I need to buy to make my own collection... This feels both like leaving money on the floor, and making the content less accessible to newcomers. It’s sad :-(

Is there a way I can get, for example, the full set of “The Order”? I thought that would be available, at least digitally, but it looks like the only way to do it is to work out which back issues of 2000 AD contain it and buy them all?

Trimming the working set of a process doesn’t actually save memory. It just moves the memory from the working set of the process to the standby list. Then, if the system is under memory pressure the pages in the standby list are eligible t

Since the first three letters are good, and generated only with the context of the preceding letters, shouldn’t just using the first three (instead of the preceding three) as context for every other one be good enough?

It’s not at all clear to me that the account in question isn’t just banned from posting links, and they happened to try to post this one. And without more evidence, that seems more plausible to me than Facebook banning links to the EFF.

It’s important to keep health articles like this in context. Sure, try to mimimize risk, but if you’re feeling too anxious remember that human beings are, currently, living longer, healthier lives than they ever have.
