When do/did you have time to study LeetCode? After a day’s work at my actual job, I’m done. My brain is fried. Writing more code is the last thing I want to do.

I have an automated feeder for my 2 cats. One has a better time sense than the other and would camp out and devour both bowls when it dispensed. We got a timer and set it to chime when the feeder went off, which helped. The feeder has an ap

From reading the title I expected it to be a study along the lines of “if your cat decides to sleep on your face, then your sleep will be of lesser quality than if it decides to sleep at the foot of the bed.”

Except that skews the candidates that pass younger. If you’re fresh out of school, you remember binary trees or sorting algorithms. After doing software development for 20+ years, you’ve been using those structures as a small part of the la

I count myself very lucky. I have friends from childhood and college that are still very close. We don’t get to see each other as often as we’d like but we do keep in touch and I know they are as there for me as I am for them. Our friendshi

I had an Alltrack, only in white. It was totaled in an accident last November, with only 11,000 miles on it. The first thing I thought after we knew we weren’t injured was, “oh NO I am going to have to buy a new car!” Used Alltracks with mo

That’s not always true. I’ve recommended 3 engineers from my previous company to apply at my current company. All of them I deeply respected for their skills and thought they were smarter than I was. None of them got offers. One didn’t even

There’s a whole separate rating for learning exactly how to do that. I got my instrument rating last summer. One very important skill you’re taught is to ignore what you feel-your inner ear will lie to you and try to kill you. Pay attention

This is a particular hot button for me, since when I started working, I got separate banks of vacation and sick time. It took me years to build up to a decent amount of vacation time; I rarely took sick time, but that was time when I truly

In the mid 70s I contracted measles. I was only 9 or 10 but I think I remember it was because there was a batch of vaccines that didn’t work, or maybe it was doctors learned we actually needed two doses. Whatever; I’d had the vaccination pr

I’m sorry. Why on earth would any reasonable person think you could turn in 7 million points for a jet? It was a clever piece of advertising ruined because some self important snot could not see the humor.

I work in the US for a “startup” company. They’ve gotten a big round of funding and are hiring like crazy. There’s constantly this exhortation to “work hard” and “overcome the obstacles”. People work ALL THE TIME. There’s an underlying pres

The 20 hrs/ 40 hrs for PPL is not a hard limit. If you are not ready, a decent instructor will not sign you off to take the check ride. Even if you have 20/40/100 hours—the instructor will not let you take it until they feel

I've used this metric but intelligently - I've used tools to SEE what is covered or uncovered. Simple constructors or accessors that end up not getting coverage are fine, I believe you can see that you have little risk in not writ
