Of course people in other countries do this, but anecdotally it does seem to be more common in the US. I think it's something to do with the American dream.

When you use Google, you expect it to help you to find something tangible that already exists. When you prompt GPT-3, it feels more like synthesising something that didn’t exist, even though all of the words and phrases in the response have

In your example the thieves have nothing to do with Amazon or their drivers. I don’t understand how this could be construed as Amazon selling an excuse for something they’re not responsible for.

Those clips are painful. DeGrasse Tyson interrupts Rogan right before important words - punchlines. For instance, in the first clip, Rogan begins “what’s interesting is that the town is -”, and DeGrasse Tyson takes that moment to pattern br

YouTube have begun asking people for their opinion on videos in quick surveys. Every so often (for me, every 2 days or so) there is a blue prompt with a video you watched recently. "What did you think of this video?" You're a

I believe that this tech is possible, but this site doesn't provide it. Look at the source of the page: it's just a bunch of sleeps and then you 'download' the same file you provided.

Indeed, "advice" is a mass noun, so it has no plural form. It's just like "rice". One grain of rice -> one piece of advice Lots of rice -> Lots of advice https://www.britannica.com/dictionary&#

The point is that you can choose which facts to present. In any case, “(badly)” is clearly an opinion and not a fact.

The OP is very negative in tone[1], although curious. I think the person you’re responding to provided a solid answer to OP’s question, whilst imbuing their answer with a reasonable response to OP’s tone. [1] "(badly)", "alwa

Certainly some esports skills are transferable. There are (for instance): surface level things, low-level mechanics (e.g. CSing in MOBAs); larger strategies (e.g. team play, map movements, game sense); and meta-learning things, like how to

I think I’d be ok with that. Trouble is, right now, plenty of people don’t have a good standard of living, and the wealth accumulated by the ultra-wealthy could make a dent in that.

I interpreted it as an artistic choice, since the outreach Twitter account is all German. It's different from the article's actual title though - which I thought was an anti-pattern for HN.

I quit my job. My last day is next Friday. I have 2 years' worth of living expenses saved up and the conviction that I'll find a way to make it work. I've spent 2021 developing self-respect and solidifying self-care routines.
