Are you certain that a user's karma factors into comment sorting? It's clear that more recent comments will be sorted to the top (temporarily), but I definitely haven't gotten the impression that existing karma scores affect anything. I d

Open to suggestions? Since we're using Scheme, it would be nice to have the hierarchy of parentheses rainbow-highlighted when you hover an expression with the mouse, much like what is done at http://wiki.call-cc.org/chicken-for-php-program

I would probably be thinking the same thing right now if all I knew about was mindless, addictive games like World of Warcraft, League of Legends, or Call of Duty. I fully agree that pouring hundreds of hours into games like that will "eat

Pointing out a conflict of interest, by itself, is indeed an ad hominem. Whether someone has a conflict of interest or not has nothing to do with their argument being right or wrong. It only indicates that they might be willing to put forth

Ad hominem much? Anyway, the article doesn't rest on that quote by a long shot, it goes on in enormously satisfying detail. It's a humanizing lead-in, at best. I think this is a great summary of recent research on the effects of coffee and

One of the things provided by the CoffeeScript Redux project is source mapping, which enables line-to-line correspondences for debugging. https://github.com/michaelficarra/CoffeeScriptRedux http://ryanflorence.com/2012/coffeescript-sourc

TL;DR: Several high-profile Node.js developers seem not to have used CoffeeScript for any of their public projects (unless you count forks). In addition, some unspecified expert Node.js devs (perhaps the same ones, perhaps not) made an unsp

Common Lisp isn't the only option. There are other communities that are geared more towards practical development, with large and growing user and library bases. Aside from the obvious example of Clojure, I'm thinking specifically of Racket

Do your research if you're planning to soup up a Macbook with an OCZ SSD. Whichever party is to blame, they often don't play well together. Mine randomly freezes for up to 30 seconds every couple of days. Others have reported worse symptoms
