> Hmm, I found some of the criticism unfair. E.g. the example with "baz = foo->bar(3);". Yes, "bar" could be a number of things here, but that's why variable naming conventions help. Then why must variables have static types?

The memory leak issues you're referring to are old and have been fixed. They may be an issue if you are writing code that must support legacy IE, and then only in specific cases. However, if that's not you, then there's no reason not to use

Other way around - because of braces and many other issues brought up when you try to take advantage of Automatic Semicolon Insertion, that is frowned upon.

The first one will be hoisted to the top of the function (the whole declaration), the second one won't (the variable will, but not the function expression itself). EDIT: To clarify: All variable declarations in Javascript do indeed get hois

This answer references Chicken Scheme, which compiles to C - I'm curious, is there any work on a Scheme that compiles to LLVM? (A brief search didn't reveal anything that's been updated in the last 4-5 years.)

Perhaps a Chromebook would work great for a Javascript or Dart developer, but what about C++, Java, or Android? Or even Go? I'm curious how well Google dogfooding Chromebooks would work out.

I didn't downvote you, but are you seriously suggesting that all you need for arbitrary development is a nice-looking, syntax-highlighting text editor? Leaving aside the fact that Brackets itself is relatively immature. It may work if you u

Huh? When is modded NOT better than the default? Why would you even do it otherwise? The issue is that modding/hacking is questionably legal and often dangerous for your console or its software (whether by the mod/hack's nature or because o

Pretty sure the biggest "gotcha" for people is squares consisting of multiple smaller squares. Unless you've encountered problems like this before, it's not intuitive to consider the 2x2 or 3x3 squares (and they might even miss the 4x4). Th
