Reminds me of Tegmark's Mathematical Universe Hypothesis, which would say (I think) that entities can do math or perform math because they are math. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mathematical_universe_hypot

I love Clojure and have happily been using it in production for 2+ years. Maybe I'm just used to the error messages, but I'm surprised "finding libraries" wasn't a higher-rated pain point. In many languages (at le

I understand the responses to this, but my take is we're so far past the Rubicon we might as well be in the Atlantic. For example, I have a friend who has never been on any social media. If he wanted to opt out of the surveillance app

For the sake of discussion, why is that scary rather than kind of nice? Unless you take the AdBlock route, aren't well targeted ads better than irrelevant ones?

I don't think you can go wrong with Python. I can't say one way or the other about Go. That said; it seems to me (as just one dev's opinion in the U.S.) that Europe -- particularly northern Europe -- has a pretty healthy Cloj

I love this README, not least because it provides some essential missing documentation for Reagent (the different component "forms"). That said, I would extend the currently en vogue advice re: React/Redux -- don't reach

I would suggest starting with compojure-api (via its leiningen template) on the backend and Reagent on the front-end. Super simple if you're familiar with building API driven SPAs and in particular React apps. compojure-api will get y

I agree. A sibling comment recommends "Joy of Clojure" but I feel that's better as a second or third book. My personal recommendation, YMMV as always, is Kyle Kingsbury's "Clojure from the Ground Up" series ht

Nervous flyer here. I tell myself this on a loop while flying and my lizard brain just does not care. Weirdly, I've flown hundreds of times and this didn't start until I was near 30. I think one aspect is not the fear of death, b
