Did you consider an AppExchange App and piggybacking off Salesforce? Also remember that the larger prospects are going to be more "old-school", so aim for the small early adopters.

Do you have anything more substantive? Clearly some people make it work (Benioff, Ellison,...). Are you saying the people on HN specifically can't succeed?

Good article for pricing in general, but Joel doesn't seem to understand enterprise software sales. His analysis of bad idea #2 ignores ROI. This model works when there is real customer pain being solved by the application.

You are right. Thinking that they are doing it purposely is a bit harsh. But I do think it's fair to be worried that cabinet members are "blissfully ignorant" about other matters if they are about their own careers and matters with severe

Daschle paid $140,000 in back taxes and resigned. Geithner did not pay $34,000. Killefer seemed to have a reasonable mistake. We all probably screw up our calculations, tax code is a mess, but 10's of thousands (by an individual) is likely

Multiple appointments had tax evasion issues. This type of thing seems fairly common, which is of course horrifying.

Totally true. I prefer they just report the facts of studies rather than have some writer fluff it up. I suppose that's the difference between a magazine and a journal.

If you would quit school for your "startup", then you are a founder. If you will definitely not quit school, you are a student. Somewhere in between is "Pre-founder".

Whoa, this is possibly the first post complaining about opportunity-negative-karma, which, in my opinion, violates the guidelines by technically complaining about being down-voted. FLAG

This is quite different from the Van Halen story. No lessons to learn, but at least there's "Dead Dog Island" to give a few laughs...

I think you make a good point. I'd liken this also to Mike Caro's poker concept of the "Threshold of Misery"...Suppose you considered $1,000 a lot of money. Then, mentally, losing $400 is bad, but not as bad as losing $800, but losing $4,0

You either created this account and posted your product to: 1. Ask for advice OR 2. Try to market your product to this forum as the audience If (2), I think this is an inappropriate approach. That's my opinion, and people can speak/flag
