I used to smoke but can't anymore because of legal constraints and of course drug testing, and the stuff stays in your system for at least a month (at least for me) :-(. This varies in between different kinds of bud, but 5 out of 6 kinds I'

Wow, that shot over your head. The comparison is in between laptops with COMPARABLE specs. Good lord. Not a $500 Dell and a $1,000 Macbook. If you'll remember, most commercials weren't too specific, but in most of them at least a thousand

Thanks for the hysterical laughter that you just provided me. The only apt analogy here is that the Mac is the taurus, with the price of the BMW. The comparison with the laptops is hardware specs, monitor, functionality, everything. The onl

Its not just me dude, millions of others share the same opinion, but here ya go: My PC is faster than my friends' macs. The UI looks better on my PC, you can even make a window fullscreen! I'm a programmer, and Apple has chosen to base thei

Wow, comparing a Taurus with a BMW? First, there's a huge price difference. Hell, these two are in two different classes of cars. BMW obviously has a nicer interior, better motor, suspension, everything. It has better performance in every a

This is also a company that once tried to get a patent on GUIs, windowing systems. They thought they should be the only ones around to produce a machine with a graphical desktop. Thank God that didn't happen, the computing world would be

Hehe, I knew I'd lose some points for that one. All the die-hard apple users constantly bash what I use, so I decided to give 'em some back. If its so great, why is its market share at such a low percentage? I realize its all personal pref

I don't see where Apple gets off charging more for their computers. They're garbage. That reminds me of the youtube video of the guy flipping out because his Apple crashed again. If one has the choice between a PC and a Mac with similar ha

Ahh ok, thanks for clearing that up. I remembered after my last post that my professor showed me a free Standford web class on developing for iPhone, and they were giving real, in-person students iPhones to test their apps on. Still, they

Wow, you can't even load your own apps onto iPhone? Damn, I knew Apple was closed-minded, but this takes the cake. If you spend that much money for that monstrosity, you ought to be able to put what you want onto it, you know, like all oth

Just joined an open source project, a p2p client for eDonkey, and eventually bit torrent and others. It is an older project that went proprietary/closed-source and failed, and we're breathing new life into it starting with the old open sou

So...its just a crazy coincidence that the guy from London, the xp-dev.com guy, is/was a trading systems developer as well? Right...that guy knew about it being on his servers, hell, he was part of the scam! These guys were up to something.

This just adds weight to what I've been saying all along: C# = The Java Killer. Also, there's more java on linux than you think. Hell, Android is a whole platform for java on Linux, which is the dumbest possible thing to do, which is why

That sounds like I was bashing it too much...don't get me wrong, I respect C++...its obviously very powerful and popular. But the fake interview was spot on in some points. There's just way too damn much stuff in it for one language, and o

I knew it was a joke, but the funny thing is that most of it is true...c++ IS a jumbled mess, IMO. Sure, it made OOP popular, which paved the way for newer languages to implement it more cleanly, and make it easier to use/think about. C++

Oh ok, sorry about that. I've never owned a 54G, and saw it listed in the Linksys GPL page for source code downloads, so I figured all versions ran it. I guess just some of them do. Thanks for the info!

Cisco has made a truckload of money from buying Linksys. The wireless routers are great for home use, and very cheap. They threw some NV-Ram and a MIPS processor in a box, used a free OS, routing engine and hardware code, and they sell the

Plus, you get the N speed and signal strength/distance advantage. That is, if you have N-capable NICs. I believe I paid $100 for the 150N about a year or so ago, so it may be cheaper now..and I remember the price difference between the 54G

I have a WRT-150N wireless N router, and it works great stock. All Linksys routers from the 54G up have Linux already, and I don't know about the 54G, but mine came stock with a web interface..you just go to 192.168.1.1 in your browser and
