Would having "From the developer of Tap Tap Revenge and Delicious Monster" help sell additional copies on the App Store? Would it help get blog coverage within the tightly nit mac elites? I believe so.

I'd say your scenario represents a tiny segment (not 90% of paid apps). Most people who build apps for fun put it out for free. If they put a price on it, it's much less likely to be used. Where is the fun in that?

Sounds pretty unbelievable. So your saying you could eat chicken wings (unbreaded) for dinner every day and not get fat? What does the body do with all that extra energy? Don't the laws of physics have to apply?

I smelled smoke 4 years ago and promptly evacuated (to rails). Rob Conery was always my favorite asp.net open source dev, I hope he's able to teach the Microsoft community what exactly they are missing.

Article is an amazingly good example of how to sell software. Even open source projects need to sell themselves, and these guys have it nailed.

Yep, I noticed that too. I think its because of that retarded photo popin / popout. When you are on the top of the page the author's photo slides out.

SQLite requires schema definition (CREATE TABLE, ALTER, etc). Thats a bit overkill sometimes when you just want to store a JSON object. Mongo makes it much easier to just start pushing data into collections without having to worry about the

Yes, I believe you are being unreasonable. ThemeForest items dont come with support. And the email he sent to you was perfectly reasonable. The dude is probably from Eastern Europe, so dont expect him to have perfect english. I highly doubt

Korean nationalism. South Korea's army would be the "occupying country" so I really doubt this would cause an insurgency as severe as the ones in Afghanistan or Iraq.

Your arguments are perfectly sound. However it has been tried, and has allowed unthinkable suffering. Why is a civilian casualty the worst possible scenario? The choice is between dying and a lifetime of living hell (north korea present day

Ah, very interesting possibilities! I'm still worried about taking an ultra productive startup like EngineYard and placing it in the "machinery" of a big corporate entity like VMWare. But maybe it would allow some really cool teams to work

This article infuriated me. No amount of aid, negotiations, or activism is going to help the people of North Korea. Literally their only hope is a large invading army. The world had its chance to end this epic tragedy for 50 years and it di

What's wrong with that? I read TechCrunch (and other startup blogs) mainly so I know what companies are getting funding. This is relevant for partnering, consulting, and to scope out competition.

Extremely lame that they check the user agent. They probably all work fine in Chrome since it uses webkit also (I believe Chrome uses a newer version even).

So if they stopped selling the oil in the US, there's no other country on earth that would have a use for it? They would maybe take a % hit, however they'd still sell all their oil. Banning them in the US would not cause that $130 billion d
