Merb's appeal to me is stability. A public framework API means plugins will stay working after upgrades. With slices, you'll be able to build up reusable components that will stay functional. If you code Rails, try getting your 1 year old

Seems like there are more efficient ways of proving your intelligence than moving to country with a language that you don't speak natively. But if you do it for other reasons, I guess its worth using to your advantage.

I've transitioned my resume to be more of a portfolio list and abilities description with a 2 liner for school graduated. Any company that respects a traditional resume is a company I don't want to work for.

I can give an immediate example. The left wholeheartedly supports Teacher Unions who are fundamentally opposed to merit pay, prefering seniority and tenure.

That's totally cool, but I'd seriously recommend just viewing a couple videos over at merbcamp.com/video and check out what it is trying to offer.

Sometimes DHH has some extremely stupid opinions. Such as his blog post about how "reusable apps" and "components" are not possible, even though Django is using them with overwhelming success. I switched to Merb because of Slices. But Datam

He mentioned his routes files was 2500 lines long. That's probably the difference. Hopefully his blog post gives a wakeup call to the Rails core team that the mass inefficiency in the routing system needs to be fixed. Even if your routes fi

Your comment points out why I don't understand "left-leaning" folk. Mentioning he makes over $250,000 doesn't need to be "admitted". He should be proud of it. It's not that his money is precious, it's a direct result of his contribution to

This is a disaster. Bush is an idiot for signing this, but just remember who controls congress. Looks like there's finally something both parties can agree on, and that's to use government resources to enforce sweeping, intrusive copyright

It's not the pentagon I'd be worried about. Both China and Russia now have their backs against the wall. Their economies have been hit much harder than ours. I suspect something bad is on the horizon. Hopefully our species has outgrown the

Don't be an idiot. He said "while the fundamentals are sound..." as part of a warning on a possible downturn. What do you want him to say? "The fundamentals are crap! Don't invest in USA!". There are several states in the country, right now

Editing a wikipedia article (which people will subsequently edit back) hardly amounts to shaping the flow of information. For a more effective use of the strategy, see: http://www.newseum.org/berlinwall/commissar_vanishes/vanishe...

It's different. Though I can't really tell if it's "different good", or "different ridiculous". The typical "online store" has such a long and boring history on the web. I'm inclined to like anything new in this arena.

It would be pathetic if any one thing was someone's only pleasure in life. Life has lots of pleasures. Driving a big car is one of them.
