Factoid of the day: the 140-char limit originates from the SS7 MAP signalling protocol used for SMS, which allows a message payload of precisely 140 bytes. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/SMS You can actually cram up t

Here's the simple formula for startup success: build a company that earns billions. The hard part is working out how to do that.

I'm somewhat amused by the idea of booting an operating system from scratch to service a single request being described as "much more simple" than the alternative of, y'know, having a single instance serve many requests.

Easy: Direct international flights, particularly for tourism. For example, in Thailand, the airports of Phuket and Krabi are only ~2 hours apart by car, yet cater to 15m and 5m pax/year respectively. Now I'm sure it made no sense

Illegal migrants are easy to pay under minimum wage, because they're under the radar. However, illegal immigration to NZ is (comparatively) minuscule and you don't really hear about payments under the table, except in small busin

One thing worth noting is that, with a theoretical max capacity on only 1 million, this airport would actually be pretty tiny by world standards. (The largest do >100m, and even Colombo Airport pulls in nearly 10m.) By comparison, anoth

Liquidity. There's enough demand for ETH-BTC that you can convert $30m worth pretty fast; for ETH straight to Monero, you would be in for a much longer wait.

Is doing interviews in an IDE and expecting fully functional code actually a thing? My company uses a simple text editor: perfection is not expected, and it's still way better than a whiteboard.
