Good question. Did that happen in any other country with faster payments? And SVB collapsed fast before this.

It is relevant that credit cards with good reward programs are more accessible to wealthier people, meaning that both people who don't use credit cards and poorer people with inferior credit cards are subsidizing them.

I admit, the cases are different, and I may be more stating how I think it should be than what a court would decide. But yes, Microsoft is doing even worse now, because the government failed to act previously.

Although I try to avoid them I do feel bothersome that a large chunk of the market is taken up by games that are made with the goal of getting you to pay instead of being fun. Broken incentives.

Nobody is an island. I would guess that the vast majority of cases of "blow their whole paycheck at the casino" is going to lead to some problem that society is going to have to solve afterwards.

Both cases they're abusing market power in one category to compete unfairly in another market. Apparently this is called "monopolistic leveraging" and is a somewhat unsettled area of law in the US. [0][1] Here's another

If Microsoft could get in trouble for bundling its own product (IE) on its own OS (Windows) then IMHO this can in fact be seen as abusing monopolistic market power in the search market to benefit in the browser market.

The latest report lacks this information, but the 2010 FBI report has this to say. > The gender gap in crime reporting has dramatically narrowed. Early in IC3’s history, men reported crime at a ratio of more than 2.5 to 1 over women. Tod

I believe the case against classical liberal economics has more to do with the economic crises of the late 19th century and specially the Great Depression than with the wars.

I'm not up on all the details of the situation, but "after creditors and investors" means $0, right? Why is a fine getting less priority than investors? Isn't that a moral hazard?

In defence of us nerds, loopholes are very much a real thing. And I bet lawyers from manufacturers are also looking for a breach through this law, and they may have lobbyists try to insert some. I don't think it is unreasonable for us
